We handle any data received in job applications and CVs with care. Data contained in job applications and CVs are solely used to assess the applicant and invite him/her for a job interview, where applicable.
Job applications and CVs are deleted from our database as soon as these have been processed.

This relates to decisions taken by computer programs or computer systems without human intervention (such as in the form of a Smit Visual B.V. employee). Areas in which personal data are used
Smit Visual B.V. will only process personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA), unless
processing outside the EEA is required because you, the customer, are based outside the EEA. In these cases, it is necessary in order to be able to perform our agreement that you provide express consent to Smit Visual B.V. to process data (or have the data processed) outside the EEA, but only in the countries outside the EEA in which you are located and the countries outside the EEA where processing is required in connection with transit. You also consent to this by providing your address details as the delivery address.
How long we store personal data for
Smit Visual B.V. does not store your personal data for any longer than is necessary to achieve the
objective for which your data was collected. The (categories of) personal data are subject to the
retention periods listed below:
Ordering: according to the fiscal retention obligation of the Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration
Marketing: up to a maximum of 2 years after the last point of contact
Newsletter (specific marketing activity): until the point in time at which you unsubscribe from the newsletter
Providing information: up to a maximum of 2 years after the last point of contact
Job application/CV: deleted immediately after processing
Open job applications: deleted immediately after processing
Sharing personal data with third parties
Smit Visual B.V. shares your personal data with a number of third parties if this is necessary in connection with the performance of our agreement and to fulfil any statutory obligations. If necessary, we conclude a processing agreement with companies processing your personal data on our behalf, in order to ensure that they guarantee that your personal data will receive the same level of safety and confidentiality. Smit Visual B.V. remains responsible for this data processing. What is more, Smit Visual B.V. will provide your personal data to other third parties if this is deemed necessary in connection with the performance of the agreement.
Cookies or comparable technologies that we use
Smit Visual B.V. only uses technical and functional cookies as well as analytical cookies that do not infringe your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is saved on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. In order to be certain that the request has actually been submitted by you, we request that you also send a copy of your proof of identity. When submitting a copy of your proof of identity, please ensure that on the copy itself, your passport photo, the MRZ (machine-readable zone – the strip with numbers at the bottom of your passport), your passport number and your Citizen Service Number (BSN) are covered over in black. We ask this in order to protect your privacy.
We respond to your request as quickly as possible but within no more than four weeks.
